Mahindra has launched the new XUV500 at Rs 12.32 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. The updated SUV is available in a total of 10 variants, and below are the ex-Mumbai prices —

Design changes include a new front grille with chrome inserts, new LED DRLs, fog lamps with new chrome bezel, new diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 235/60 tyres, redesigned tailgate with split taillamps, and a new rear spoiler.
Not much has changed in the interior layout compared to the outgoing model. However, there is soft-touch leather on the dashboard & door cards, quilted tan leather seats, and piano black center console.

Powertrains
Powering the new XUV500 is a 2.2-litre mHawk155 diesel with 6th generation eVGT (electronically controlled Variable Geometry Turbocharger), delivering 155 hp at 3750 rpm and 360 Nm of torque between 1750 and 2800 rpm. Transmission is a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is optional on W11 variants.
Mahindra said that the low and mid-range torque has been improved for a pleasurable drive in cities as well as on highways.
On the petrol side, there is a 2.2-litre mHawk unit that has been carried over as is from the outgoing XUV500 petrol. The engine produces 140 hp at 4500 rpm and 320 Nm of torque between 2000 and 3000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Safety
Safety kit includes 6 Airbags – 2 front airbags, 2 side airbags and 2 curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Rollover Mitigation, ABS with EBD, Hill Hold & Hill Descent Control, Emergency Call, all four disc brakes, crash protection crumple zones and side-impact beams.
There are 7 colors to choose from — New Crimson Red, New Mystic Copper, Pearl White, Volcano Black, Moondust Silver, Opulent Purple and Lake Side Brown.
Mahindra said that the new XUV500 owners get PURPLE CLUB Program membership that provides lifestyle and service privileges.
