McLaren confirms the name P15 for its next Ultimate Series hypercar, and will be revealed online on December 10, 2017, at 00:01 GMT. The public debut is scheduled in March 2018, at the Geneva International Motor Show.
McLaren said that the daily usability has been sacrificed to give the most intensive driver experience around a circuit, as the car will be the ultimate track-concentrated McLaren. Designed as the most extreme road-legal McLaren ever, it is the third of 15 new models or derivatives due by the end of 2022 under the McLaren Track22 business plan. As announced before, it will be delivered ahead of a second future Ultimate Series model codenamed BP23, which aims to be the world’s first Hyper-GT.
Like the previous Ultimate Series cars – the P1 and P1 GTR, the new generation Ultimate Series models will be available in strictly limited numbers. 106 units (same as McLaren F1), reportedly. And as you might have guessed, all those units have already been assigned.
Rumour has it there’ll be a 3.8 V8 biturbo.
