Ford has revealed the India-spec EcoSport facelift, which is expected to be launched on November 9th. Looking at the images, we can see that there is very little difference compared to the international variants we’ve seen previously. Which is a good thing.
Variants and features
The new EcoSport will come in 5 variants – Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+. The base model gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt pretentioners & load limiters, power door locks, audio player, bluetooth connectivity and 4 speakers.
As you go higher, you get keyless entry, push button start/stop, 8.0-inch floating style touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC 3, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, steering mounted controls, power fold mirrors, climate control, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, reversing camera, ISOFix mounts, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, projector automatic headlamps, LED DRLs and so on.
The top-spec Titanium+ gets a total of 6 airbags. Depending on the trim, the new EcoSport will come with 15, 16 or 17-inch wheels.
The automatic variant gets HLA (Hill Launch Assist), ESC, EBA (Brake Assist), TCS (Traction Control), and the shift paddles.
Powertrains
Powering the car is an all new 123 PS 1.5-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which we saw in detail two weeks ago. The existing 100 hp 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel will continue to do duty in the new EcoSport. Both engines will come with 5-speed manual as standard, while a 6-speed torque converter automatic will be an option for the petrol engine.
Colors
There are 7 colors to choose from – Lightning Blue, Canyon Ridge (Orange), Diamond White, Moondust Silver, Race Red, Absolute Black and Smoke Grey.
