The EGO driving mode was one of the key highlights for the Aventador S coupe unveiled last year. This time, you can flaunt it with the open-air driving pleasure of the Roadster.
Well, let’s jump right into the numbers then. The 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 makes the same 740 hp and 690 Nm as the coupe. A 0-100 km/h acceleration happens in 3.0 seconds while the top speed is the same 350 km/h. Transmission is, of course, the 7-speed Independent Shifting Rod (ISR). Just like the coupe, the Roaster too is a permanent four-wheel drive.
What’s different, however, is the weight. The Roadster weighs 50 kg more than the coupe. Four-wheel steering combined with Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), and Magneto-rheological Suspension are all there.
The carbon fibre roof panels weigh less than 6 kg. The Aventador S Roadster is launched in a rather difficult to pronounce color name Ad Personam Color Blu Aegir, which apparently is inspired by the peaceful turquoise ocean.
Depending on the speed and the selected drive mode, the active rear wing optimizes the car’s aerodynamic balance, and improves front downforce by more than 130% over the previous Aventador, says Lamborghini. With the wing in an optimum position, the roadster achieves over 50% overall efficiency at high downforce and more than 400% in low drag.
Priced at $460,247 in the US.
