It was yet another beautiful Saturday, i decided to drop by at the AMG Performance Center in my city to checkout the GLC 43 Coupe.
Internationally, there is also a standard GLC 43 and GLC 63 on offer, standard i mean SUV body style, but the Indian market is getting the coupe instead. The coupe body style is obviously for those who enjoy driving. Having said that, the rear section isn’t all that bad. Leg room is just fine, and there’s a little scooped out headroom where the sunroof ends, but people over 6 foot might struggle a bit. But like i mentioned earlier, this for those who like to drive themselves, and the rear seats are just there like in a sports car.
Speaking of the business end, there is a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo petrol, which is also shared with the other AMG 43 models in the range, such as SLC 43, C 43 and GLE 43. Here in the GLC, it makes 367 hp and 520 Nm of torque, same as the GLE 43 Coupe. Since the GLC weighs a bit less than the GLE, it does 0 – 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, 0.8 seconds faster than the GLE. Transmission is a 9G-Tronic automatic with rear-biased 4Matic AWD system.
Features include LED intelligent light system, Artico leather seats with red contrast stitching, COMAND online with navigation, ambient lighting, sunroof, 5.5-inch multi information display, Dynamic Select – where you can choose different driving modes, Air Body Control based AMG sports suspension, 360 degree camera, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
So, which would you rather have? A standard GLC 43 or a coupe? Personally, i think i would pick the standard GLC 43, since the GLC is one of my favourites.
