The Skoda Kodiaq launch is still months away, but the dealers across the country seems to have started accepting the bookings. Just spoke to a dealer here in Bengaluru, and they confirmed the same. Booking amount ranges from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Skoda’s first 7-seater SUV has already been listed on Skoda India’s official website under ‘En Route’ tag.
The Kodiaq was unveiled in Berlin last year in September, and was designed by Jozef Kabaň. Built on the VW Group’s MQB platform, the Kodiaq measures 4,697 mm long, 1,882 mm wide and 1,676 mm tall (including roof rails), and has a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. The SUV costs £21,565 (Rs 18 lakh) now in UK.
Internationally, there are five engine choices. Two TDI and three TSI engines, ranging from 1.4 to 2.0 litre. Depending on the engine, there is a 6-speed manual gearbox or DSG transmissions with 6-speed or 7-speed DCT. The all-wheel drive is offered in the top-of-the-range engines, the TDI with 140 kW (190 PS) and the TSI with 132 kW (180 PS), paired to a 7-speed DSG.
