Geely’s new born brand Lynk & Co has taken the wraps off the 03 Concept Sedan ahead of Auto Shanghai 2017. If you haven’t heard about the brand before, the Lynk & Co was formed with an idea of an always connected car, and a different approach when it comes to selling the car. More in a moment.
Lynk & Co’s cars will be based on a platform jointly developed by Volvo and Geely. Last year in October, the brand unveiled ’01’, a Crossover based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform, which Lynk says ready for production. More about 01 Crossover here.
One of the main ideas behind Lynk & Co is direct-to-consumer distribution which cuts out the dealerships entirely, and deliver the car to your doorstep. Same thing when your car needs a service, it’ll be picked up from your doorstep. Secondly, there’ll be an app store for the car with open APIs, so the developers will be able contribute as well. Last but not the least, the car is always connected, so that you can manage your car remotely with an app, and also share the car with your friends and family.
As for the 03 Sedan, the interiors look high-tech with digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment screen. Build quality looks solid too with lots of premium materials being used. Not much information is available at the moment, but the sedan appears to have been built on the same platform as the 01 Crossover, and will also feature the same tech and sharing capability. More information will be available at the brand launch event at Auto Shanghai 2017. Scroll down for pictures.
