Audi reveals the second generation Q5 at Paris Motor Show 2016 which opened its doors to media yesterday. The 2018 Q5 will go on sale early 2017 in international markets.
The second generation Audi Q5 is based on Volkswagen Group’s MLB Evo platform, which is also shared with the new A4 sedan and the Q7 SUV.
The SUV now measures 4.66-meters long, 1.89 meters wide and 1.66 meters tall. The wheelbase is scaled at 2.82 meters. Even though a bit larger than the outgoing model, use of lightweight, high strength steel and aluminium in the construction of the platform has helped Audi to decrease the weight of the new model by up to 90 kg.
