Hello kind sir, would you like some car with your displays?
Lincoln has taken the wraps off the third-gen Nautilus SUV—scheduled to arrive in North American showrooms in early 2024. U.S. prices start at $50,415. Buyers get to choose from three main trims:
Trims | MSRP |
Premiere | $50,415 |
Premiere II | $50,415 + $6,455 |
Reserve | $54,750 |
Reserve II | $54,750 + $6,455 |
Reserve III | $54,750 + $10,235 |
Black Label | $74,465 |
The Jet Appearance Package—available on all trims costs an extra $3,000.
The styling of the third-gen model is—I guess you could say—an evolutionary version of the 2019 facelift. There’s a light bar that runs across the full width of the front fascia, which is sort of mimicked at the rear in an inverted way. The taillights perform an animated sequence. LED headlights come standard, while there’s an option to go for something called H2 Pixel headlights. The side profile is not all that different from the Corsair.
Red Carpet, Diamond Red, Chroma Caviar and Blue Panther are a new addition to the color palette. The aforementioned optional Jet Appearance Package gets you 22-inch aluminium wheels, a two-tone paint finish, and anodized black exterior elements.
On the inside, well, I guess it’s fairly self-explanatory. I mean, there’s a yacht-inspired design going on on the dashboard, and of course, there’s that unnecessarily-large full-width display—for reasons beyond our full understanding. It is made of a driver display and a passenger display, but both combined are claimed to be the largest in its class, which I guess has the answer to its existence. The central touchscreen measures 11.1-inches.
Another highlight of the new Nautilus is Lincoln Rejuvenate, which according to the company is a stationary experience, which are specially curated sensory experiences tied to lighting, screen visuals, and personal preferences such as seating position and massage options. Part of this feature is specially curated digital scents for the cabin. Three scent cartridges are housed in the center armrest, which in the company’s terms, go like this: Mystic Forest, an earthy blend with woody, rich notes of patchouli; Ozonic Azure, a crisp blend of aromatic patchouli and traces of bright violet, and Violet Cashmere, exotic white florals and trusted violet that are crisp and refined as fresh linen.
Interior color themes include Black Onyx & Medium Light Space Gray; Smoked Truffle, and Black Onyx & Allura Blue (for Reserve trim). The Black Label trim gets the Redwood theme in addition to the Chalet theme. The Jet Appearance Package is gonna include leather-trimmed seats with suede inserts.
Other key highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity; Alexa built-in; Lincoln BlueCruise 1.2 hands-free driving; 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System; 24-way front seats, and adaptive suspension.
Moving on to the juicy bits of the story, as standard, the 2024 Nautilus is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 186 kW (250 bhp/253 metric hp) and 373 Nm (275 lb-ft) of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive is apparently standard here.
There’ll also be a hybrid powertrain on offer, combining a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 100 kW (134 bhp/136 metric hp) electric motor integrated into a CVT, offering a system power output of 231 kW (310 bhp/314 metric hp).
