Spot the differences.
As you probably know, the Hyundai i10 is a popular choice not just in India but also in Europe; there’s the regular i10, and of course, the i10 N Line as well. Well, both models have been updated for 2023 and beyond, and are expected to go on sale in the second half of the year. Production is planned to commence in April 2023 at the company’s plant in Izmit, Türkiye.
The facelifts are rather subtle; I mean, the only difference you can see is the design of the LED running lights on the regular i10’s grille. This time around, there are four small pods arranged in a diamond shape as opposed to circular housings in the outgoing model. Another change you can probably notice is the wheel design—which might look the same at first glance, but is similarly different—if you will. At the rear, the taillights have a Y-shaped signature (a ‘H’ when you consider both left and right). As for the i10 N Line, well, it looks pretty much the same as before except for a new set of 16-inch wheels.
On the inside, again, it’s spot the differences game, but Hyundai is offering a new Purple package that includes tartan fabric seats with vertical purple lines, as well as subtle purple touches in the form of contrast stitching and air vent surrounds. Grey touchpoints with a purple sheen further add to the drama. The new model also adds blue mood lamps in the front footwell area.
The i10 N Line’s dashboard looks just as N Line as it ever looked, but this time around, the front seats feature a thick red stripe in addition to red contrast stitching.
Both models come standard with the Hyundai Smart Sense suite of active safety and driver assistance systems which include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (can now detect cyclists in addition to pedestrians), Lane Following Assist, and Rear Occupant Alert.
Hyundai didn’t mention any powertrain-related changes in its official press release, which suggests that there aren’t any. In Europe, the i10 is offered with a 49 kW (67 metric hp) 1.0L 3-cylinder N/A petrol, a 73 kW (100 metric hp) 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 62 kW (84 metric hp) 1.2L 4-cylinder N/A petrol options. Transmission choices would be a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT depending on the engine.
