Remember the Project Maybach battery-electric off-road coupé concept we saw a few months ago? Well, here’s the car that you can actually purchase. According to Mercedes-Benz, this special edition Maybach S-Class was finalized before fashion design Virgil Abloh’s untimely passing in November 2021, and is available in a strictly limited run of 150 units. Pricing is not disclosed. Co-branded merchandise that includes T-shirts, hoodies and caps are also on sale in select markets.
Based on the Maybach S‑Class S 680, the limited edition model follows the same color theme as the aforementioned concept. On the exterior, the upper part of the body is in a glossy obsidian black, while the lower part including the forged rims is painted in a sand hue. The four-seat luxurious cabin continues the theme with sand-colored Nappa leather in combination with black elements.
Buyers of this special edition Maybach S 680 will be given a special custom-made wooden box covered in sand-colored Nappa leather emblazoned with the Mercedes‑Maybach and Virgil Abloh logos. The gift box contains a 1/18 scale replica of the car, two car keys and a carabiner hook. Rounding off the package is a special car cover featuring the Mercedes‑Maybach and Virgil Abloh logos.
