BMW Motorrad India has commenced pre-launch bookings for the K 1600 GTL, the K 1600 Bagger, the K 1600 Grand America and the R 1250 RT touring motorcycles, with launch scheduled for May 2022.
Key features of the new R 1250 RT (featured photo) include LED lighting; a 10.25-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity; better speakers; buttons on the side for quick access to functions such as navigation or seat heating; wireless smartphone charging; 3 riding modes (ECO, Rain and Road); Dynamic ESA (electronically adjustable suspension with load compensation); Active Cruise Control; Dynamic Traction Control; Tyre Pressure Monitor; Hill Start Control; ABS Pro, and more. It is powered by a 1,254 cc two-cylinder engine that pumps out 100 kW (136 metric hp) and 143 Nm (105 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The features list of the K 1600 series motorcycles also has all the above mentioned items and a bit more depending on the variant. The Grand America and GTL for example, get a top case as well.
All three K 1600 motorcycles are powered by a 1,649 cc in-line 6-cylinder engine that pumps out 118 kW (160 metric hp) and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The K 1600 GTL and K 1600 Bagger have an official top speed of over 200 km/h (124+ mph), while the K 1600 Grand America settles for 162 km/h (101 mph). Suspension duties are handled by BMW Motorrad Duolever at the front and a single-sided swing arm with BMW Motorrad Paralever at the rear. Braking duties are handled by discs measuring 320 mm at the front (dual) and 320 mm at the rear.
