Hyundai has unveiled the Creta facelift at the Indonesian auto show (GIIAS 2021); the SUV will be produced in Indonesia for the first time. It is not yet known if this facelift is headed to other markets. But anyway, highlights include revised styling and ADAS.
The Tucson-like front fascia makes the SUV appear larger than it actually is, which is probably a good thing for most buyers. The side profile remains unchanged, while at the rear, there are some subtle changes on the tailgate; it appears that the light strip on the tailgate has been moved to the spoiler at the top.
The cabin and dashboard design remains mostly unchanged, but unlike the India-spec Creta which gets a 10.2-inch central touchscreen, the Indonesian model gets an 8-inch unit. But guess what? It has been compensated with a 10.25-inch driver display (vs 7-inch for India). Other features include an 8-speaker Bose audio system, auto AC, ventilated front seats, tilt & telescopic steering, and cruise control.
The top-end models get the ADAS such as Forward Collision-avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Blind-spot Collision-avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning, and Rear Cross-traffic Collision-avoidance Assist. Download the brochure here.
The Creta facelift in Indonesia is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that pumps out 85 kW (115 metric hp) and 144 Nm (106 lb-ft) of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a CVT.
