Remember the Chiron Super Sport 300+? Yea, it seems like there are too many derivatives of Chiron at this point that it is difficult to keep track of all of ’em. But the Chiron Super Sport 300+ is a special one for Bugatti as it set a speed record of 304+ mph or 490+ km/h, two years ago. Of the total 30 units, 8 are now ready for deliveries, after extensive testing and fine-tuning at several tracks including Nurburgring and Nardò Ring.
The 8.0L W16 quad-turbo motor produces 1,177 kW or 1,600 metric hp, which is 100 metric hp more than the other Chirons in the lineup. Of course, it’s not just those 100 extra horses that make the car go 300+ mph, but its heavily reworked body and aerodynamics. The Super Sport 300+’s “Longtail” rear end extends the body by 25 cm, allowing the laminar flow to pass over the body for a longer period of time, and therefore significantly reducing aerodynamic stall by more than 40%.
As we can see in the photos, the cars don’t have any paint on ’em, but just Jet Orange racing stripes over the exposed carbon fibre body. Read more here.
