Mercedes-Benz India today launched the AMG SLC 43 at Rs 77.50 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. The SLC 43 convertible is the 6th of the 12 planned launches in India for the year 2016. The SLC 43 replaces the very successful SLK class which was launched back in 1996, and had achieved sales of around 670,000 units.
The SLC 43 is powered by 3.0 litre (2996 CC) V6 engine producing 367 hp @ 5500-6000 rpm and 520 Nm of torque @ 2000-4200 rpm. Transmission is taken care by a 9G-Tronic unit. The company claims there’s 20% more fuel efficiency. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, and 0-100 happens in 4.7 seconds.
The SLC 43 gets AMG sports suspension, Direct Steer System, Dynamic Select, Sports Exhaust System and 18 inch alloy wheels. Interior highlights include Nappa leather multi-function sport steering wheel, Black upholstery in Nappa leather / DINAMICA microfibre Designo Red seat belts, Light carbon-grain aluminium trim, Ambient lighting, Analogue clock, Panoramic vario sunroof, Reversing camera, 7 inch COMAND infotainment system, Audio 20 CD including pre-installation for Garmin Map Pilot, Smart phone integration Apple carplay & Google android auto.
Safety kit include adaptive brake lights, attention assist, hill start assist & HOLD function, brake assist (BAS), acceleration skid control (ASR), 3-stage ESP, airbags for driver and co-driver, window airbags for driver, front passenger & rear seat occupants, Sidebag for driver and co-driver (combined thorax/pelvis bag) 6 airbags in total.
The car measures 4142 mm in length and 1817 mm in width and 1304 in height. Wheelbase measures at 2430 mm and fuel tank capacity is 60 litres out of which 7 is reserve. The electrically retractable roof can be deployed at speeds of up to 40 km/h.
