Porsche launched the updated 911 range (911.2) in India, with prices starting at Rs 1.42 Crore for the 911 Carrera, and goes all the way upto Rs 2.81 Crores for the Turbo S Cabriolet. All prices ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2017 Porsche 911 lineup for India includes 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 911 Carrera S, 911 Turbo, and the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
Apart from the minor tweaks on the design front which includes re-designed headlamps and tail-lamps, the biggest change is introduction of a new 3.0 litre twin-turbo flat-six motor. This new engine develops 370 hp and 450 Nm in the Carrera, and 420 hp and 500 Nm in the Carrera S. There’s a 20 hp increase compared to the previous models. These cars are said to offer their maximum torque from 1,700 rpm to 5,000 rpm and can rev up to 7,500 rpm. Available with 7 Speed manual or a 7 Speed PDK. The 911 Turbo and Turbo S range on the other hand has 3.8 litre engine making 540 hp and 709 Nm on the turbo, and 580 hp and 749 Nm on the “S” variant, and comes mated to a 7 Speed PDK dual clutch automatic.
Equipment on offer include Porsche’s new 7.0 inch Porsche Communication Management (PCM) touchscreen infotainment system, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC). Rear axle steering is offered as an option on the 911 Carrera S.
